ILOILO – To give way to contact tracing and disinfection activities, the local government of Estancia temporarily closed its municipal hall after a public official tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“We have a lockdown sa munisipyo from May 20 to May 25,” Dr. Greg Rolan Sumile, chief of the Municipal Health Office, confirmed to Panay News.
Sumile, also the team leader of the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) Estancia, said they have yet to ascertain the public official’s source of infection.
With the temporary closure, Sumile said, operations are also suspended except in the Rural Health Unit and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
As of May 19, Estancia had 49 confirmed coronavirus cases – 14 active, 29 recovered and six dead./PN
