BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) immediately launched an investigation after one of its police personnel received a cake decorated with human ears.
BCPO chief Police Colonel Manuel Placido refused to name the policeman or the unit he belonged.
In an interview over RMN DYHB-Bacolod, Placido said the cake came along with a letter baring the words: “Gusto mo gid magsikat. Sige lang kay lapit ka na ma-front page, ma-promote ka pa. Alerto lang kay para indi ka ma-dehado.”
The ears on the cake were sent to the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).
SOCO, however, were not able to confirm as to who the owner of the ears was, although back in March this year, a body was recovered in Victorias City, Negros Occidental wherein the victim’s ears were missing. The victim remained unidentified, but it was strongly believed that illegal drugs may have been the motive behind the killing.
Placido said he met with the involved police officer after the incident. He also pointed out it was normal for police officers to receive threats.
He also assured that the whole police force will be protected from threats to their life, especially if it’s work-related./PN
