ILOILO City – Injuries on the body were what a police officer got after figuring in a motorcycle crash in Barangay Cagbang, Oton, Iloilo.
Police Officer 1 Catalino Cadavos was confined in the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital in Molo district.
The 21-year-old officer was headed to this city when he fell off the motorcycle he was driving after the vehicle accidentally slipped at around 12:15 a.m. on July 27, a police report showed.
Cadavos was wounded on both knees and elbows and the left foot.
The officer was currently assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 in Barangay Guadalupe, Janiuay town.
POLICE CATCH WANTED MAN
Wanted for an attempted homicide charge, a resident of Barangay Dungon B, Mandurriao district was arrested.
Officers caught the 43-year-old Noel Caiban in his house on July 27, a police report showed.
They served him a warrant of arrest at around 12 noon and brought him to the Mandurriao police station.
The court set the bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty at P36,000.
3 NABBED OVER ‘BOOKIES’
Three residents of the component city of Passi in Iloilo province face illegal gambling charges.
Officers on patrol in Passi spotted them soliciting bets for the illegal numbers game “bookies” in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, a police report showed.
Residents Salvador Padernal, 54, Raul Palmares, 24, and Myla Cabayao, 28, were detained in the Passi City police station.
They were arrested at around 7:30 p.m. on July 27, the police report stated.
They may be charged with violation of Republic Act 9287, or an Act increasing penalties for illegal numbers games.
Bet money worth P1,060 and gambling paraphernalia were seized from the suspects./PN
