Cops arrest bizman for unlicensed gun, bullets

ILOILO City – Policemen raided a shop in Barangay Yulo Drive, Arevalo district selling motorcycle parts and seized a .22 revolver and bullets.

RMFL shop owner Ryan Bergira, 35, of Barangay Napandong, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, was arrested and detained at the Arevalo police station.

The raid was conducted around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 by the Arevalo police.

According to Senior Inspector Eduardo Siacon, Arevalo police chief, Bergira would be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

“We received reports that he had three firearms – a .22 revolver, a .45 pistol and a .38 revolver and all were unlicensed. We, however, only recovered the .22 revolver, five ammunitions for a .39 revolver and five ammunitions for a .45 pistol,” said Siacon.

Belgira denied owning the recovered gun and ammunitions.

“Those were not mine. I don’t know where they got them,” said Belgira.

Siacon said an informant supplied them with pictures of the guns, “that’s why the judge approved our request for a search warrant.”

“I’m innocent. I do a legal business here,” said Belgira.

  1. That’s not the only evidence. And he’s not telling the truth. They should talk to his live in partner. In facebook he even threatened somebody. This kind of people need to be investigated. That’s all I can say for now.
