ILOILO City – A suspected collector of an illegal numbers game was arrested in Barangay Santiago, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
Melanie Guillermo was a 32-year-old resident of Sitio Saclayan, Barangay Santiago. Cops caught her soliciting bets on Oct. 8.
The suspect yielded a black ball pen, three pieces of cotejo, carbon paper, a clutch bag and P150 cash.
Guillermo was detained at the town police station. She faces a charge for violating Republic Act 9287 that outlaws illegal gambling.
As an illegal gambling collector or agent, Guillermo faces “from eight years and one day to 10 years” of imprisonment if found guilty by the court./PN
