ILOILO City – The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of the Police Regional Office 6 arrested a drug suspect in a buy-bust operation on March 15 in Barangay Loboc, Lapuz district.
The 44-year-old Jun Diestro of Barangay Esteban, Lapuz yielded 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at P816,000, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca, RDEU chief.
Diestro was taken to the La Paz police station.
“He was under surveillance for many months. Madugay amon pag-transact kay he won’t deal sa mga tawo nga indi nya kilala, until may nakita kami nga asset to transact with him,” Darroca said.
From what the RDEU gathered, the suspect could be getting his supply from convicted drug personality Jovan Abantao presently detained at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
“We are investigating if the suspect is under the Abantao group,” Darroca said./PN
