Cops face blank wall on woman’s fatal shooting

BACOLOD City – Police have yet to determine the motive in the fatal shooting of a 45-year-old woman.

Joy Cayas Subang, a native of Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, was killed in Siaton, Negros Oriental.

She was about to ride her motorcycle in front of a pawnshop on Villanueva Street in Siaton when a lone gunman onboard another motorcycle fired at her, investigation showed.

The shooter sped away after the incident at around 6:10 p.m. on June 5.

Subang already lived in Barangay Sumaliring in the town. She reportedly married a policeman and operates a videoke bar, the municipal police said.

The victim was rushed to the Siaton District Hospital where she was pronounced “dead on arrival.”

Police have yet to identify the shooter and determine the motive as of this writing./PN
