ILOILO – The Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS) has identified the suspect in a shooting in Barangay Cagamutan Sur, Leganes, Iloilo.
Carlos Hechanova, 47, was a resident of Barangay Paho, Zarraga, Iloilo.
The shooting on Dec. 24 left one dead and two others injured.
The fatality was 52-year-old Cyril Dela Torre of Barangay Pagdugue, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The wounded were Noel Dela Torre, 32, also a resident of Barangay Pagdugue, and Ezra Prudente, 22, of Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas. They were being treated in a hospital.
“May pagbina-isay nga natabo sang entertainer sang KTV bar kag sang mga biktima asta nga na intra na ang suspect kag dayun nga nagpagwa ini siya sang iya armas luthang kag ginpang tiro ang biktima. Napatay gid si Cyril Dela Torre,” said Police Master Sergeant Johnrey Laru-an.
Today, Dec. 27, is the scheduled autopsy examination of the victim.
“Padayon pa gid sa karon ang hot pursuit operation naton sa whereabouts sining suspect kag naga-connect naman kita sa iban pa gid nga mga kabanwahanan para mapadasig sini ang iya pagdakop,” Laru-an added.
Hechanova will be facing charges of homicide and two counts of frustrated homicide to be filed by the Leganes police./PN
