‘Cops must be pro-God, pro-environment – Salinas’

ILOILO City – Remember and practice the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) core values, policemen across Iloilo province were reminded.

Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas said, “if we always practice our core values, our mission and vision, the police would never do wrong.”

The PNP espouses the following core values: maka-Diyos (pro-God) makabayan (pro-country) and makakalikasan (pro-environment).

Police regional director, Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan recently ordered all police commanders to constantly monitor their men, following a series of criminal incidents in Metro Manila and other parts of the country involving policemen.

Salinas condemned the actions of nine members of the Quezon City Police District accused of kidnapping and highway robbery on Sept. 1.

“What they did should be condemned by their batch or classmates to the highest level. It caused great damaged to our organization,” said Salinas.

PNP envision itself to be – by 2030 – already highly capable, effective and credible, and working in partnership with a responsive community towards the attainment of a safer environment to live and work./PN
