ROXAS City – Antidrug operatives from the Capiz Police Provincial Office arrested a suspected drug dealer in Barangay IV (Poblacion).

The 21-year-old Niño Jaime Arce Cataluña of Barangay Tiza was detained in the lockup facility of the Roxas City police station.

Operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit staged a buy-bust operation against Cataluña on Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero, PDEU team leader, identified Cataluña as a “street-level drug pusher.”

Cataluña has not surrendered as part of Oplan Double Barrel, the intensified crackdown on drugs of the Duterte administration, Gervero said.

The operatives seized from the suspect three sachets of suspected shabu and a P1,000 marked money.

Cataluña did not resist arrest when he learned that he was dealing with a police officer serving as poseur-buyer, police said.

He faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
