ILOILO City – In Barangay Asluman, Carles Iloilo policemen caught a 26-year-old man soliciting bets for an illegal numbers game.
Efren Mendoza of Barangay Naro, Cawayan, Masbate was detained at the Carles police station on Friday morning.
Police recovered from Mendoza two pieces of paper that listed number combinations, a pen, carbon paper and P100 cash.
Republic 9287 outlaws illegal gambling.
If found guilty by the court, Mendoza faces imprisonment from eight years and one day to 10 years./PN
