Cops net P2.6-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO – Police operatives from this province and the city of Bacolod seized a total of more or less 382 grams, or nearly P2.6 million worth of suspected shabu, in two recent drug buy-bust operations.

On Friday, Dec. 15, at 3:28 a.m., personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended two high-value suspects identified as aliases “Mitch” and “Clyde.”

The operation in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, resulted in the seizure of approximately 232 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,577,600.

Meanwhile, in Estancia, Iloilo, at 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 14, another high-value suspect was collared.

During the operation in Barangay Poblacion Zone 2, officers from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office apprehended alias “Bugarno,” a 40-year-old resident of the town’s Barangay Poblacion Zone 1.

Approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P1,020,000 were seized.

Both suspects are in police custody and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
