Cops seize P3.4M worth of shabu in Cotabato town

MANILA – Authorities in Cotabato province have seized P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Midsayap town and arrested the targeted drug suspect, a police official said Saturday.

The suspect was identified as Boy Maguid, 40, and a resident of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao province.

Midsayap Police head Superintendent Joan Maganto said the anti-illegal drug operation was conducted by joint elements from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-12), local police, and troops from the 34th Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army.

Authorities collard the suspect in the buy-bust operation along Bonifacio Street in Barangay Poblacion-6 in Midsayap.

Nang i-abot na ng suspek ang shabu sa asset ng PDEA-12, doon na siya dinampot ng mga awtoridad,” Maganto said.

Recovered from the suspect were half a kilo of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million, and marked money used in the operation.

PDEA-12 Regional Director Naravy Duquiatan confirmed that the suspect was involved in illegal drug trade in North Cotabato and Maguindanao provinces. (With GMA News/PN)
