ILOILO City – Police authorities have made a breakthrough in their campaign against illegal drugs with Friday’s seizure of more or less 600 grams, or P4,080,000 worth, of suspected shabu on Circumferential Road 1 in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) apprehended Janjan “Borgok” Flor, of Sitio Malipayon, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 8 after handing over three sachets of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P45,000.

Following the initial arrest, authorities searched his motorcycle, where they found 12 more packs of drugs hidden in a green plastic container and eight more bundles contained in a brown envelope.

The RPDEU-6 revealed that further investigation suggests Flor’s illegal drugs are sourced in Barangay Bakhaw.

Authorities have been monitoring the suspect for over a month before carrying out the operation.

Flor is currently held by the Molo police for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“As we further intensify our battle against illegal drugs, we are also making our firm stand against drug personalities. We will not stop suppressing drug personalities to achieve a drug-free Western Visayas for a safer future for our children,” said Brigadier General Sidney N. Villaflor, director of Police Regional Office 6./PN
