ILOILO – A drunk man was shot dead by policemen for stabbing a cop yesterday in Barangay Bayuyan, Estancia town.
Leonidez Labaroza died at the Jesus M. Colemenares District Hospital in nearby Batad town.
Prior to his shooting, Labaroza stabbed Police Patrolman Jason Villamor of the Estancia police station at around 4:10 p.m.
Villamor and colleagues were in Barangay Bayuyan to check reports about a knife-wielding man terrorizing a neighborhood.
Villamor got stabbed by Labaroza, forcing other cops to shot the suspect.
Villamor survived the stabbing but had to be confined at the Jesus M. Colemenares District Hospital./PN
