ILOILO City – The suspects in the fatal shooting of a young man at Smallville Complex in Mandurriao district on August 20 of this year remains at large, police said.

During yesterday’s preliminary investigation on the case by the Iloilo City Prosecutor’s Office at the Chief Justice Ramon Q. Avanceña Hall of Justice, neither suspect John Rovel Vargas and companions nor their representatives showed up.

The family of victim Sean Axel Del Castillo is demanding justice.

“Hinding-hindi talaga kami titigil hangang hindi mapanagot ang suspect at ang cohorts niya,” said Will Botor, an uncle of Del Castillo.

Del Castillo, 21, was a resident of Summer View Subdivision, Guzman Street, Mandurriao. He was shot in the back.

Prior to the shooting, he and Vargas, a resident of Deca Homes 3 residential subdivision in Pavia, Iloilo, had a row at Lanai Grill and Sports Bar.

They continued their dispute outside the bar.

A burst of gunfire was heard. Vargas and several companions were seen fleeing.

The victim’s family offered a P100,000 reward money to whoever could give information leading to the successful arrest of Vargas and his companions.

Mayor Jerry Treñas added P50,000 more./PN
