ILOILO City – Outgoing Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director Colonel Joeresty Coronica said he is satisfied with his stint as this southern city’s top cop.
“I’m satisfied. For me, I was able to deliver what I want to deliver for the people of Iloilo City.” Coronica said.
According to Coronica, he considers the establishment of four additional police stations in the city as his biggest accomplishment.
“Kung biggest ang pamangkot mo, isa lang, amo ni ang pag-establish naton sang apat ka additional police stations,” he told Panay News.
When asked to rate himself, Coronica said it should be the Ilonggos who should rate him.
“I’m not fond of rating myself kay ti ang dapat mag-rate indi ako kundi ang mga pumuluyo o ang mga tawo,” he said.
The outgoing ICPO director expressed gratitude for the support he had received, adding it helped him in overcoming challenges.
“The experience has been very challenging and at the same time manami man kung imo nga ma-survive, kag ina nahimu naton because of the support nga aton nabaton,” Coronica shared to Panay News.
Legada is new ICPO chief
Last week, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier Jack Wanky confirmed that Coronica will be replaced by Colonel Kim Legada as ICPO director within this week.
Coronica, meanwhile will take the helm of PRO-6’s Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division, a position previously held by Legada.
Coronica and Legada both belonged to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 2000.
As of this writing, Wanky said he was still waiting for the official order for Legada’s appointment as the new ICPO director.
Legada was not new to the ICPO. He was the former chief of the Iloilo City Police stations 1 (City Proper) and 5 (Mandurriao), and previously headed the Iloilo City Mobile Group./PN
