ILOILO City – The police raided a barangay councilman’s house in Luca, Ajuy, Iloilo yesterday and recovered firearms and ammunitions.

The positive 8 a.m. raid resulted to the arrest of the councilman, the 47-year-old Edwin Estrebillo. He was detained at the Ajuy police station.

Combined elements of the Ajuy police station and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Region 6 were armed with a search warrant from Judge Rogelio Amador of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66.

They recovered a .9mm pistol with 22 ammunitions and a homemade 12-gauge shot gun with four ammunitions.

According to Chief Inspector Charlie Sustento, Ajuy police chief, they received complaints from Estrebillo’s neighbors that the councilman, when drunk, often fired his guns.
