ILOILO City – A road mishap in Barangay Dawis, Zarraga, Iloilo left a couple died and their companion injured.
Eliseo Anativo, 42, and his wife, Maria Luisa, 38, died of severe head and body injuries at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, Iloilo.
Their companion, Jade Babao, was recuperating in the same hospital.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 8.
According to the police, the victims – residents of Barangay Tanza Baybay here – were onboard a tricycle when hit by a sport utility vehicle driven by John Christopher Surmion, 21, of Barangay Catoogan, Pototan.
Surmion was detained at the Zarraga police station. He would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide and physical injury./PN
