DUMANGAS, Iloilo – A barangay kagawad and his live-in partner died in a vehicular accident in Brgy. Dacutan, this municipality.
Fifty-two-year old Renefredo Lobaton of Brgy. Ilawod, Barotac Nuevo and Cecilia Montano were found lifeless in the waters off Brgy. Dacutan around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Insp. Jonathan Pinuela, Dumangas police chief, the victims were riding on a motorcycle from Brgy. Sapao, Dumangas and heading towards Brgy. Dacutan.
Upon reaching a curved part of the coastal road, Lobaton lost control of the speeding motorcycle, which accidentally jumped over into the sea.
The victims’ bodies were seen by a certain Aaron Demarana floating near the shoreline a few meters away from the motorcycle.
The victims were declared dead on arrival at the Dumangas District Hospital./PN
