ILOILO – The Administrator’s Office at the provincial capitol was temporarily shut down yesterday.
A personnel of the provincial government’s Task Force on Anti-Overloading tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Atty. Suzette Mamon, acting provincial administrator, said the office closure was a precautionary measure. It gave them ample time to conduct thorough disinfection.
The infected employee, according to Mamon, was asymptomatic and isolated at a quarantine facility.
“Nagpa-swab sia kay may isa sia ka family member nga naga-obra sa hospital and naka-visit sa ila balay kag nag-positive, so amo to nagpa-test sia,” Mamon told Panay News.
She allayed fears of a possible contagion at the provincial capitol.
“Ang empleyado naga-time in lamang kon aga sa Provincial Administrator’s Office kag nagakuha sang travel order para maggwa sa field,” Mamon explained, this is also why swabbing other employees of the administrator’s office is not necessary.
They have low-risk exposure to the COVID-19 carrier, Mamon said.
“Ang makabig lamang nga may exposure sa empleyado amo ang four personnel nga kaupod sini sa task force,” she stressed.
These four personnel already had their specimens collected. They are quarantining while waiting for their test results.
Mamon said the operation of the Provincial Administrator’s Office resumes today, Oct. 22./PN
