BACOLOD City – For two days, work at the city hall of Victorias in Negros Occidental is temporarily suspended. A city government employee tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca ordered the closure beginning yesterday to give way for the disinfection of city hall offices and annexed buildings.

While on shutdown, Palanca said, personnel of the City Health Office (CHO) will conduct contact tracing and swabbing city hall employees who had exposure to the confirmed COVID-19 case.

According to Palanca, the city government is adopting a work-from-home arrangement.

Based on the Oct. 12 data of the CHO, Victorias City has a total of 125 COVID-19 cases with 95 recoveries and two deaths.
Meanwhile, 24 individuals were tagged as suspected cases./PN
