ILOILO City – The city government hailed Central Philippine University for being included for two consecutive years – 2021 and 2022 – in the list of Best Universities in Asia by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
“I am extremely proud that an educational institution here is among the top universities in the world, and one of the 15 best in the country,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.
CPU is the only university from Western Visayas to be included in the 15 best schools in the county per the QS ranking.
As the world’s leading provider of services, analytics, and insight to the global higher education sector, QS enables motivated people anywhere in the world to fulfill their potential through educational achievement, international mobility, and career development.
According to its website, www.qs.com, the QS World University Rankings portfolio, inaugurated in 2004, has grown to become the world’s most popular source of comparative data about university performance.
QS develops and successfully implements methods of comparative data collection and analysis used to highlight institutions’ strengths.
The QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings which comprises the global overall and subject rankings (which name the world’s top universities for the study of 48 different subjects and five composite faculty areas), alongside independent regional tables (such as Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia and the Arab Region).
The QS World University Rankings is the most-widely read university rankings in the world, the website stated. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
