CPU grad ranks 2 in electrical engineering board exam

ILOILO City – A graduate of Central Philippine University (CPU) in Jaro district ranked second in the Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) Licensure Examination held on Sept. 5 to 7 this year.

Jaj Hiponia Sentina, 29, who hails from Sibalom, Antique, got a 90.60 percent rating.

Exam results were released by the Professional Regulation Commission on Thursday.

Jaj, son of Juney and Janice Sentina, graduated cum laude.

He was the only examinee from Region 6 who made it to the Top 10.

Leading the board examination was Bryan Enaris from Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta. Mesa. He got a 93.10 percent rating.

The topnotchers were as follows:

2. Jaj Hiponia Sentina of Central Philippine University (90.60 percent)

3. Emman Joshua Baliton Busto of University of the Philippines – Diliman (90.50 percent)

4. John Lloyd De Vera Rebe of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (90.25 percent)

5. Shan Ryck Libradilla Largo of University of Eastern Philippines – Catarman (90.20 percent)

6. Jay Leoneil Moralde Dormal of Central Mindanao University (89.85 percent)

7. Jero Reyes Ching of University of the Philippines – Los Baños (89.35 percent)

8. Jan Marco Geronimo Balani of University of Batangas (89.25 percent)

–  Darell Jed De La Cruz Israel of University of the Philippines – Los Baños (89.25 percent)

–  Aaron Magpantay Sarmiento of University of the Philippines – Los Baños (89.25 percent)

9. Rembert Buhayang Bataluna of University of Southeastern Philippines – Davao City (89.20 percent)

–  Rhyan Jason Gallardo Delizo of Saint Louis University (89.20 percent)

10. Rochelle Marie Caringal Flores of University of the Philippines – Los Baños (89.10 percent)

– Wendell Baraoidan Pascual of Mariano Marcos State University – Batac (89.10 percent)

–  Sahra Alanzalon Vicente of Pangasinan State University – Urdaneta (89.10 percent)

A total of 1,668 out of 2,590 examinees passed the licensure examination, and 1,506 out of 2,233 passed the Registered Master Electrician Licensure Examination.

The electrical engineering board exams were conducted at the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

The electrical engineering licensure exams were originally scheduled on April 2021 but re-scheduled to due to community quarantine restrictions./PN
