BACOLOD City – Aren’t the New Year celebrations already over?
A 14-year-old from Barangay Camalanda-an, Cauayan, Negros Occidental was wounded by a firecracker blast while in school, a police report showed.
Alexis Paradero was confined in the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
Police investigation showed Paradero tried to blow up an unexploded firecracker (omido) at around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 during recess at the Tagaytay Elementary School in Barangay Camalanda-an, Cauayan.
He did it several times but nothing happened. It only exploded when he picked it up for the nth time, resulting in a skin avulsion on his right hand, police said./PN
