BACOLOD City – A man died after he figured in a vehicular crash in Barangay 9, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
The 41-year-old Nestor Catiban fell off the Ramfire 125 motorcycle he was driving after he hit a Fuso truck also navigating the Kabankalan-Mabinay road around 2:25 p.m. on Thursday, the report added.
Catiban – a resident of Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City – overtook the truck that the 57-year-old Esteban Aguedo of Talisay City, Negros Occidental was driving, investigation revealed.
He then bumped into a concrete post and fall into a canal along the road, it added.
Catiban sustained injuries and was rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan where attending physician Dr. Jonvic Caagbay pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Meanwhile, Aguedo was arrested and detained in the custodial facility of the Kabankalan City police station./PN
