BACOLOD City – He was not as lucky as his back rider when they figured in a vehicular crash in Crossing Pacol, Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
The 22-year-old Atelano Galez III was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Valladolid District Hospital an hour after the accident, police said.
The 23-year-old Cherry Rose Davido, on the other hand, was currently confined in a hospital in Bacolod City for treatment.
Galez and Davido – both residents of Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental – sustained body injuries after the crash around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
They were riding a Honda scooter when they bumped into a six-wheeler truck driven by the 42-year-old Ormoc City resident Jefrey Ignacio.
The truck is now under the custody of the Valladolid municipal police station./PN
