MANILA – Despite winning all of their matches so far in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference, Creamline Cool Smashers remains wary of the Petro Gazz Angels at the start of the finals tonight at the San Juan Arena.

Cool Smashers veterans Alyssa Valdez and Julia Morado knew that, even if they defeated the Angels twice in the eliminations, they could not still take for granted their foe in the best of three titular showdown.

“I think one of the strengths of Petro Gazz going from the Reinforced Conference to the All-Filipino is their confidence,” said the three-time league MVP Morado. “We can see ‘yung naguumapaw, lumalabas talaga, overflowing talaga ‘yung confidence.”

Morado added: “We know Petro Gazz isn’t a joke. They’re not a team that we can relax with kasi they’ve been playing really well. They’ve been complete for how many games and kami, ‘yun nga, bungi bungi kami sa training.”

The Cool Smashers were loaded as, aside from Valdez and Morado, it has veterans Jessica Galanza, Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato, Celine Domingo, and Pau Soriano.

The Angels, on the other hand, also has a formidable roster in Chie Saet, Jovielyn Prado, Jonah Sabete, and Paneng Mercado as well as middle blockers Jeanette Panaga and Cherry Nunag.

This is the second straight time that Cool Smashers and Angels face each other in the finals following their Reinforced Conference encounter, which was won by Petro Gazz in three games./PN
