MANILA – Creamline Cool Smashers recovered from a slow start to score a 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 win over PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers in the Premier V League Reinforced Conference Season 3 on Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

Kuttika Kaewpin led the way with 19 points, on 16 attacks and three blocks, while Ale Blanco chipped in 16 points, on 10 attacks, four blocks and two service aces, for the Cool Smashers (8-1).

After losing the opening set, the Cool Smashers bounced back in the second straight with strong start to level the set count before taking the third set with clutch conversions.

The Cool Smashers regained its dominance in the fourth set as it turned a slim 13-9 advantage to a 21-13 spread behind the conversions from Kaewpin, Blanco and Alyssa Valdez.

“Our errors were too many to count, lampas ata sa daliri during the first set. So going to the second set, coach Tai (Bundit) was asking us to compose ourselves and stay focused,” Valdez said.

Olena Lymareva-Flink top-scored with 22 points off 19 attacks and three aces while also notching 13 excellent digs and 12 excellent receptions, Ilongga Jovelyn Gonzaga added 10 markers for the Lady Troopers (4-5).

In the second game, BanKo Perlas Lady Spikers made quick work of the Bali Pure Purest Water Defenders, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21, to inch closer to a playoffs spot with 4-5 slate.

Nicole Tiamzon top-scored with 19 points, while import Sutadta Chuewulim had triple-double 12 markers, 10 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions for the Lady Spikers./PN
