Creamline still unbeaten in Premier V-League

MANILA – Creamline Cool Smashers kept its unbeaten record in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference. It posted a 25-12, 25-5, 25-15 sweep of Chef’s Classics Lady Red Spikers at the San Juan Arena.

Alyssa Valdez top-scored with 16 points on eight attacks, seven service aces and a block on Sunday night.

Jessica Galanza added 11 markers.

The defending champions Cool Smashers (3-0) pounded the Lady Red Spikers early in the first set with a 16-1 start before the latter scored courtesy of Jinggay Bangad.

Chef’s Classics tallied its 12th point of the first set before Galanza ended the frame with an attack.

Creamline was on point again in the second frame. They tallied a 19-1 score, allowing their opponent to score just five points.

The Cool Smashers displayed the same dominance in the third for an easy win.

“This is the first game din na nakalaban namin Chef’s Classics ‘yung mystery on how to play against them, nandoon kami,” said Valdez. “Nangibabaw ang mental toughness na tapusin ‘yung game.”

In the first game, Petro Gazz Angels rebounded from an opening day loss with a mighty bounce back win over winless BaliPure Purest Water Defenders, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16.

Jeanette Panaga got 16 points coming off 12 attacks, three kill blocks and an ace, while Cienne Cruz had 19 digs and 10 excellent receptions as the Angels improved to 1-1 win-loss slate./PN
