Criminal, admin raps filed against Pavia policeman

ILOILO City – Criminal and administrative charges have been filed against a police officer who shot a lodging house security guard.

A case for frustrated homicide was filed against PO3 Anthony Pagdagani before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

Chief Insp. Efren Lozada, chief of La Paz police station here, confirmed that Pagdagani also faces a case for grave misconduct at the Regional Internal Affair Service of the Police Regional Office 6.

Pagdagani is currently restricted at the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

IPPO director, Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas vowed there will be no whitewash in Pagdagani’s case.

“Whatever the result of his administrative case, he will be answerable for it,” he stressed.

Pandagani shot 23-yeard-old security guard Henry Biana of Brgy. Carmelo, Banate at Katrina Lodge on May 1.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. while Pandagani, 32, of Brgy. Sambag, Jaro district was arguing with his woman companion and the lodge’s cashier over his unpaid bills.

Pandagani reportedly refused to pay his lodging house bill amounting to P170.

Biana checked what the commotion was about at the cashier’s office.

An altercation ensued between the cop and the guard which resulted to the shooting.

Biana was hit on his right arm.

Pandagani quickly boarded a taxi and left./PN
