SAN JOSE, Antique – A mock tour that aims to introduce the province to the international cruise tourism map is ongoing.

The “Cruise Tourism Mock Tour” at the Lipata Port in Culasi town was set from June 7 to 8.

Provincial Tourism Officer Jose Ramlo Villaluna said they hope tour operators would take interest in bringing visitors and docking cruise ships at the port in northern Culasi.

Gov. Rhodora Cadiao said she personally asked the Tourism department to consider Antique in its cruise tourism program.

“Tourists may stay here for just 10 hours but they could really help our economy” by, say, buying locally made souvenir items and availing themselves of services, said Cadiao, also the chairwoman of the Regional Development Council.

The governor and Department of Tourism regional director Helen Catalbas were set to the lead the mock tour.

On Day 1 one of the places to be introduced is the Mararison Island, said the Provincial Tourism Office.

There, the guests will be entertained by the Mararison children’s choir. They may also do trekking, sandbar diving, swimming, and snorkeling.

Tourists will also be able to visit the Malumpati Cold Spring, trek to the head spring and do water tubing.

A faith healer in Pandan town will also perform a traditional dance.

On Day 2 there will be visits to the kawa hot bath and fish spa at the Tuno, and a “boodle” lunch and pottery making at the Calawag Mountain Resort in Tibiao town will be offered to guests. (PNA)
