CSB drubs Letran in PBA D-League

MANILA – Go for Gold-College of St. Benilde Scratchers weathered a late run by the Petron-Letran Knights to eke out a 107-87 win in the 2019 PBA D-League on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Roosevelt Adams continued his fine play as he unloaded 29 points, on 6-of-9 from threes, to go along with 11 rebounds and four blocks for the Scratchers, which moved up to 4-3 in the Aspirants Group.

Unique Naboa also contributed 20 points, seven assists, and five boards, while Ilonggo Yankie Haruna and Clement Leutcheu both had 14 markers for the streaking Scratchers.

The Scratchers started strong and went up by as much as 29 points at 64-35 early in the third quarter. The Knights rallied to as close as 82-91 before Go For Gold pulled away anew at 101-84.

Jeo Ambohot finished with double-double 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Alvin Pasaol and Jerrick Balanza added 16 and 15 markers, respectively, for the Knights, which dropped to 5-3.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Pare and Darwin Lunor conspired on the offensive end as the St. Clare College-Virtual Reality Saints halted its two-game slide with a 93-82 win over McDavid.

Pare and Lunor partnered in the Saints’ second quarter pullaway that turned a 25-26 deficit to a comfortable 59-44 halftime lead before preventing the runs by McDavid in the second half.

Pare top-scored with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, while Lunor also had double-double of 19 points and 11 boards for the Saints, which improved to 5-3 win-loss slate./PN
