SAN JOSE, Antique – Outgoing Sanggunian Panlalawigan member (SP) Joseph Eugene Alojipan is pushing the rehabilitation and improvement of the Culasi District Hospital in this capital town.
Alojipan, during the SP’s last regular session on Thursday, passed a resolution requesting congresswoman-elect Loren Legarda and governor Rhodora Cadiao to allocate P50 million for the rehabilitation of the flagship hospital in the northern part of the province.
“There is the felt necessity to improve the facilities, provide additional medical and laboratory equipment of Culasi District Hospital to fully cater to the medical needs of the people,” he said.
Alojipan added his resolution approved unanimously by members of the provincial board was in response to the clamor of his constituents to improve the hospital.
“While I was campaigning for my candidates’ last elections, there were people who brought up their concerns to me and it is most often the hospital improvement,” he said.
Currently, the 50-bed hospital caters to patients from the northern towns of Antique like Barbaza, Tibiao, and Culasi.
“Almost every day you could hear the ambulance siren transporting a patient to the hospital,” Alojipan added.
The fund will be used to acquire a computerized tomography scan and electrocardiography machine and other laboratory equipment. (With a report from PNA/PN)
