Curry fires 30 pts in 30 mins as Warriors go back-to-back

A DAY after dropping his career-best 62 points, Stephen Curry blazed for 30 points in 30 minutes as the Golden State Warriors recorded back-to-back victories in the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) Season.

Curry continued his torrid shooting and finished the match with nine rebounds and eight assists as the Warriors mauled the Sacramento Kings, 137-106, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, United States on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines).

Kelly Oubre Jr. also had his best game with 18 points, Andrew Wiggins supplied 16 points while Eric Paschall contributed 14 markers.

The Warriors had a fiery 26-11 start on conversions from Oubre, Curry, Wiggins, and Draymond Green. Buckets from Paschall, Curry and Kent Bazemore later gave GSW a 37-20 edge.

It was all GSW since then with Curry and the rest of the starters getting a much needed lift from Kevon Looney, Mychal Mulder and James Wiseman as the lead reached to 113-81.

Harrison Barnes and De’Aarox Fox finished the game with 18 points each while Buddy Hield chipped in 10 markers as the Kings slumped to their third consecutive defeat for a 3-4 card.

Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokoumpo waxed hot with 43 points along with nine rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks (4-3) hacked out a 125-115 triumph over the slumping Detroit Pistons (1-6).

Jayson Tatum, for his part, tallied season-best 40 points while rookie Payton Prichard scored career-best 23 points as Boston Celtics (5-3) dominated the Toronto Raptors (1-5), 126-114.

Julius Randle capped the match with near triple-double 29 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists as the New York Knicks (4-3) blew past Atlanta Hawks (4-3), 113-108.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Brogdon knocked down a floater with 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Indiana Pacers (5-2) past the New Orleans Pelicans (4-3), 118-116.

In other results, Philadelphia 76ers (6-1) defeated Charlotte Hornets (2-5), 118-101; Orlando Magic (5-2) prevailed over Cleveland Cavaliers (4-3), 103-83; Miami Heat (3-3) edged Oklahoma City Thunder (2-4), 118-90; Dallas Mavericks (3-4) tripped Houston Rockets (2-3), 113-100.
