Curry leads Warriors past 76ers

MANILA – Stephen Curry had another fiery game during the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) Season as he led the Golden State Warriors score a 107-96 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, Monday, at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Curry converted 10 of his 17 three-point attempts to finish the match with 49 points as the Warriors improved to a 29-29 win-loss slate.

This was the 11th straight game that the two-time Most Valuable Player awardee scored 30 or more points and his fourth time to score 10 or more triples in the past five games.

Down 68-70 late in the third quarter, the Warriors scored seven unanswered points via Curry’s triple and two pointers by Wiggins and Jordan Poole to take a 75-70 edge.

During the fourth quarter, Philadelphia regained the edge at 92-91 but Curry unloaded five straight points for a 96-92 advantage. Two more triples and freebies came from him allowing the Golden States to grab the victory.

Andrew Wiggins chipped in double-double 16 points and 10 rebounds, Damion Lee added 12 markers, and Kevon Looney hauled 15 rebounds to go along with five points for the Warriors.

Joel Embiid fell short of a triple-double with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists. Seth Curry added 15 markers while Daniel Green contributed 12 points for the 76ers (39-18).

Meanwhile, Chicago Bulls (24-33) heated up in the second half to score a 102-96 win over Boston Celtics (31-27) and stay alive in the Eastern Conference playoffs race.

Down 42-48 at the half, the Bulls used a strong third-quarter surge by Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, and Thaddeus Young to tie the score at 64-all. Conversions by Lauri Markkanen gave Chicago a 74-66 upperhand.

The Bulls were still on top, 96-90, in the fourth period but the Celtics clawed to within 94-96. Chicago sealed the win on free throws by Bulls’ White and Garret Temple.

Vucevic contributed 25 points, White added 16 markers while Temple and Young finished with 13 each for the Bulls.
