
TTEAM Shaq’s OG’s overcame their height disadvantage to defeat Team Chuck’s Global Stars, 41-25, in the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Stephen Curry finished with 12 points, built on four three-point conversions, to go with four rebounds and one assists to be named as KIA NBA All-Star MVP for Team Shaq.
Jayson Tatum top-scored for Team Shaq with 15 points, while Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, and James Harden combined for 14 markers, while Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard was scoreless in limited minutes.
LeBron James, who was drafted to be part of Team Shaq, sat out the game to rest his foot and ankle injuries. This was the Los Angeles Lakers star’s first NBA All-Star absence in 21 years.
Team Shaq started hot with a floating three-pointer from Curry followed by a layup and consecutive outside conversions from Tatum to establish an 11-1 advantage, forcing Team Chuck to call for timeout.
After the break, Team Chuck managed to trim the deficit courtesy of connections from Victor Wembanyama but outside conversions by Curry and Tatum allowed Team Shaq to reach the target score of 40 points.
Wembanyama top-scored for Team Chuck with 11 points, Karl-Anthony Towns added eight markers, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic had four and two points, respectively.
On their way to the final round, Team Shaq prevailed over the Team Candace, 42-35, behind the consecutive three-pointers of Lillard in the endgame.
Team Chuck, on the other hand, defeated Team Kenny, 41-32, behind the hot shooting of Gilgeous-Alexander./PN
