BACOLOD City – A 23-year-old man using different aliases online was arrested on Tuesday in Barangay Tiglawin, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The Regional Trial Court, Branch 40 (Silay City, Negros Occidental) ordered the arrest of Jason Rico Escanuela, a resident of the village.
Escanuela was charged with 14 counts of computer-related identity theft under Section 4 of Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, a police report showed. The court recommended a P72,000 for each count.
The suspect was detained at the Cadiz City police station./PN
