DAR-Iloilo gets new head

THE DEPARTMENT of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Iloilo Provincial Office has a newly designated head.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Lucrecia Taberna replaced OIC-PARPO II and concurrent ARD-AJDSP Ronald Gareza, Ph.D., CESO VI.

Gareza was assigned at DAR Regional Office VI as full-fledged assistant regional director.

Taberna is on the process of reviewing all the workload of the Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officers (MARPOs) and the workforce under her to ensure that the targets of DAR-Iloilo in terms of land acquisition, program beneficiaries development and agrarian justice delivery as mandated will be accomplished.

She repeatedly reminded everybody to strictly observe the “No to Corruption” policy as part of her thrust and directions for a more effective and efficient CARP implementation in the province of Iloilo.

It can be recalled that Taberna came from DAR-Negros Occidental, where CARP implementation is seen as “very challenging.”

She was assigned in Negros Occidental from 1999. In 2005, she was re-assigned at DAR Regional Office VI and in 2012 she came back to Negros Occidental as chief of the operations division.

She was then appointed as the OIC-PARPO.

Taberna eventually became a full-fledged PARPO II in 2015. (With a report from DAR Region 6/PN)
