ILOILO City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – Province of Iloilo has accomplished more than 100 percent of its three major final outputs (MFOs) for the year, namely the Land Tenure Security Program (LTSP), Agrarian Justice Delivery Program (AJDP), and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program (ARBDSP).
According to Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Lucrecia S. Taberna, DARPO-Iloilo has overshot its target for the 1st semester of 2019, during the recently concluded 1st Semester Regional Assessment.
To date, DAR-Iloilo has already distributed a total of 70,579 hectares to 52,002 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs). It has also already resolved the following: 10,177 Adjudication cases, 411 Judicial / Court cases, 8,667 Quasi / Judicial cases and 18,496 Agrarian Law Implementation (ALI) cases. In terms of support program, 60 organizations are being assisted with 5,302 ARBs and 4,195 non-ARBs.
At present, DAR-Iloilo is working towards the following in consonance with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte: 1) a LAD Free Iloilo 2022 which means that by 2022 all lands that are covered by CARP will already be distributed to ARBs, 2) distribution of government – owned lands as mandated by Executive Order No. 75, Series of 2019, and 3) parcelization of Collective CLOAs.
Likewise, its focus is on the provision of various support services that ranges from farm implements, rural infrastructure development, livelihood projects, skills enhancement training and seminars and even credit facilities, to help ARBs increase their farm production and household income.
As always, the directive of PARPO II Taberna is for DAR-Iloilo personnel to see to it that what DAR is doing is sustainable and will create impact on the lives of the ARBs./PN
