DARREN Espanto chose to keep mum when asked to react about the viral video of JK Labajo where he was caught swearing in front of a large crowd at a rock music festival.
The incident happened at the recent Rakrakan Festival 2019 when an audience member kept pestering Labajo with her shrills about how much she loves Espanto, perhaps to mess with the young rocker while he was onstage.
“I am not the right person na sumagot po dito right now,” Espanto said in an interview with entertainment media after the press conference of “The Aces” concert on Monday.
When asked if he has already forgiven Labajo after their tiff in the past, Espanto said: “I’d rather not talk about it here at this type of event.”
In October last year, Labajo reportedly accused Espanto of being gay in a tweet, which he claimed was only posted on his Twitter account because he was hacked.
Nonetheless, Espanto hopes to put a stop to all these issues, saying “I think everyone wants that.”
Meanwhile, the former “The Voice Kids” contender had a ready answer when asked how he would respond if someone in the crowd watching his concert would keep on shouting “I love JK.”
“[Sasabihin ko] I love you too. Kasi nandoon siya, ako ‘yung nagpe-perform sa stage. Sisigawan mo ako ng I love you, babalikan kita ng I love you,” he said with a smile.
Aside from the issue involving Labajo, Espanto was also asked to comment about Dingdong Avanzado’s good words to him after he defended his daughter Jayda against bashers.
“Para po sa akin kasi, I guess kahit sino naman pong magulang, idedepensa ang kanilang anak. Jayda is a very good friend to me. It’s really not right kapag may naririnig kang hindi naman totoo tungkol sa ibang tao or sasabihin mo na ‘sana mamatay ka na,’” he explained.
Espanto also has a message not just to his fans on social media, but to everyone who are supporting their idols. (ABS-CBN News)
