YOUNG singer Darren Espanto is set to take on a new role, this time as part of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
On Wednesday, the UNDP announced Espanto’s appointment as its new Youth Advocate for its sustainable development goals.
According to UNDP, it recognizes young people’s potential as agents of change.
“We partner with young people, youth organizations and actors from civil society and private to promote youth-focused and youth-led development,” it said.
Accepting this new role, Espanto said he is honored to be a part of UNDP Philippines and he is hoping to be of service through this endeavor.
“In this time of uncertainty and difficulty, it is our obligation to look after each one and to make sure that we are doing our part to be of help. In this connection, I would like to inform everyone that I am now officially the newest Youth Advocate of the UNDP,” he said.(ABS-CBN)
