ILOILO City – The 16-year-old high school lass who had pinpointed her 40-year-old father as her rapist is determined to sue him.
She had already filed a case against her father, a furniture maker, for beating her in violation of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
Miag-ao, Iloilo’s police station is now working on her affidavit, said Police Officer 1 Maricel Celestial, Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) in-charge.
The result of the girl’s medical examination done on July 23 is already available but she does not want the police nor the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office to divulge it, said Celestial.
The police station’s WCPD is also helping the girl overcome the psycho-social effects of her experience through counseling, said Celestial.
The father would rape her every time he was drunk or whenever her mother was not home, said the girl.
She did not immediately report the sexual abuse that had been going on for the past five years because she feared her father, said Senior Insp. Ceferino Gelpe, Miag-ao police chief.
She only got the chance to reveal it at the police station when her mother reported to the police that her father had beat her black and blue in the evening of July 22.
Her father allegedly got angry upon knowing that she had a boyfriend.
