ILOILO City – The first day of the traditional Misa de Aguinaldo on Monday, Dec. 16, was generally peaceful with no untoward incidents monitored, according to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said they have not monitored any incident and among the contributing factors is the police visibility in all churches and streets.

“We deployed our personnel in churches and even on streets to make sure that church-goers are all safe,” Solis said.

However, the police warned the public to secure their valuables while in church as thieves could take advantage of the situation.

The police further warned the public to lock their house doors before going to churches.

“Our police deployment will continue until the end of this month. We have to use our available personnel to make Christmas and New Year peaceful,” Solis added./PN
