BACOLOD City – A body in an advanced state of decomposition was found in Hacienda Consuelo, Barangay RSB, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
The 41-year-old Emilio Aries was a resident of Purok Bougainvillea, Barangay RSB.
La Carlota City police chief Lieutenant Colonel Lowell Garinganao said on Feb. 22, Aries’ family filed a missing person report; he failed to return home since Feb. 20.
Aries was found lying down, along with his motorcycle, in an almost six-foot-deep canal surrounded by tall grass. Two passersby smelled a foul odor in the area.
Authorities believed the victim was drunk and accidentally fell. A foul play was ruled out since the victim’s valuables were still with him.
Garingganao added the victim may have died due to the injuries he sustained in the crash./PN
