ANTIQUE – The body of a 44-year-old man was discovered in a decomposed state, hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck, in Sitio Calawonan, Barangay Igburi, Patnongon town.
Roger Ellaga, a single man and resident of the barangay, was found around 2 p.m. on Monday.
His sister, Mary Jane Ellaga Lagunday, reported the discovery to the Patnongon municipal police station at approximately 4:30 p.m. the same day, stating that her brother was found in the mountainous part of the barangay.
Investigations reveal that Ellaga had left his home at 2 p.m. on April 19 and had not returned.
He had been experiencing a nervous breakdown, his family told the police.
The family has decided against a post-mortem examination of the body, which was transferred to Dalisay Funeral Homes in Patnongon.
Local police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ellaga’s death./PN
