Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. plans to adjust the COVID 19 vaccination program to give priority to citizens aged 20 to 35 years old.
He reasoned that most infected cases recorded by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) were those within the age group.
They were more likely to get the virus since they left the more often to work.
If this age group is given the vaccine, Defensor explains, they will not spread the virus to their work associates, senior citizens and any person with co-morbidities they come into close contact with.
“Kon gusto mo nga punggan ang transmission protektahan mo ang naga-guwa kay sila man ang nagalaton sang senior citizens kon magpauli sa balay, kon protektahan mo na sila kundi mas safe ang aton senior citizens and co-morbidities.”
As of April 27, the PHO recorded 1, 524 infected individuals aged 21 to 30 years old; followed by 1, 231 cases from ages 31 to 40; and 923 cases from ages 41 to 50./ PN
