ILOILO City – Government employees are public service providers, city hall employees were reminded.
“They need to deliver good service because if they don’t, the bad feedback will boomerang to the institution they represent,” said Graft Investigation Officer I Evangeline Nuñal of the Office of the Ombudsman in Region 6.
The city government’s Human Resource Management Office, in partnership with the Office of the Ombudsman, recently conducted a seminar on “integrity, transparency and accountability in public service” (ITAPS) among city hall department heads and heads of offices.
The one-day seminar tackled the following topics:
- Understanding Corruption
-
Accountability of Public Officers
-
Penalizing Corruption
-
Making Difference in Public Service.
Office of the Ombudsman Region 6 acting director Atty. Pio Dargantes led the ITAPS seminar at the city hall penthouse.
The Ombudsman conducts ITAPS seminar to national government agencies, local government units, state universities, government hospitals, and among others.
“We are here to remind them of what and what not to do as government employees,” said Nuñal. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
