ILOILO City – A food delivery rider was hit by a car on Avanceña Street, Barangay North Fundidor, Molo district.
Jeric Dela Cruz, 30, was a married resident of Barangay Mohon, Arevalo district.
Around 11:53 p.m. on Jan. 2 he was on his way home when he was hit by a Honda Civic sedan driven by Daniel Grecia, 35, of Barangay Ungka 2, Pavia, Iloilo.
Dela Cruz was immediately brought to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital where he died at around 4:20 a.m. the following day.
Grecia was allegedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor when he strayed to Dela Cruz’s lane, according to Police Master Sergeant Rixie Diaz of the Molo police station.
The suspect, who is currently being held by the Molo police, faces a charge of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and damage to property./PN
