DENR-MGB 6 donates face masks to WVMC frontliners

The DENR-MGB 6 personnel together with Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla, Jr. turn over boxes of surgical masks to the staff of WVMC COVID-19 ward.

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Mines and Geosciences Bureau (DENR-MGB) in Region 6 has donated boxes of surgical masks to the medical frontliners of Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) of the Department of Health (DOH).

A total of fifty-three (53) boxes with two thousand six hundred fifty (2,650) pieces of surgical masks were given to the medical frontliners of WVMC. The DENR-MGB 6 personnel has voluntarily raised personal funds for the effort in support to the fundraising initiative entitled, “Kasimanwa ko, Palangga Ko” as mobilized by regional executive director Francisco E. Milla, Jr.

Moreover, it is also part of the Department’s contribution to society and in support to Republic Act No. 11469 or the Bayanihan To Heal as One Act which declared a Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) pandemic.

“This pandemic taught us to bounce back to nature, to give it our precious time. Thus, we should take care of it as we take care of ourselves. This initiative is an act to protect our medical frontliners who continues to fight the battle against COVID-19,” said Milla.(DENR 6)
